Overview:
The Project Manager role serves in the Tax Transformation team, to provide project management support for projects within the Tax Transformation team.
Responsibilities:
Project specific responsibilities:
Manage assigned projects and the efforts of a multi-skilled/multi-functional team. These projects typically impact one or more delivery units (and in some instances firmwide) and support the needs to improve and/or transform the subject business(es). These projects also compete for resources, funding and prioritization with other projects, thus requiring cross project coordination and interorganizational negotiation and validation as required.
Work closely with the Tax Transformation/Program Manager Managing Director, Resource Managers and Stakeholders to transition a project from the Initiate to the Planning phase, continuing to manage the project through Execution, Control and Close Phases. This includes, but is not limited to, the following activities as required based on project size and complexity:
Initiation and Planning
Establish project collaboration tools (i.e. Office 365 Teams site, Team SharePoint site, and/or Project Management site)
Work with project sponsor(s) and other Executive stakeholders to finalize project objectives, update business case and prepare project charter
Obtain sign-off from sponsor on the project charter
Work with Tax Transformation/Program Manager Managing Director as well as applicable Resource Managers, identify and acquire project resources
Develop project approach, plans to meet stated project objectives and functional as well as non-functional requirements (such as product backlog, WBS, budget, schedule, procurements, third-party contractors, etc.)
Work with key Stakeholder and subject matter experts to articulate solution design and approach to project execution
In the event a third party will be used to staff the project, identify, finalize, and contract with the third party. This may include the creation and issuance of a Request for Information (RFI) and/or a Request for Proposal (RFP).
Manage as required the RFI/RFP process, including vendor orientation, preparation, vendor oral presentations and demonstrations, vendor selection and vendor contracting.
Develop project budget and resource plan (to include Crowe resources as well as any expected external resources) to include forecast of hours
Develop risk mitigation, change control, communication and quality assurance plans
Determine any project procurement needs, if applicable
Provide support for the contracting process, as needed.
Process HR On Boarding documentation for any consultants who will need access to Crowe systems
Obtain necessary approvals to move the project into Execution
Coordinate and facilitate a Project Kick-off Meeting to transition the project into the Execution Phase
Execution and Control
Implement and monitor project execution, including project plan and schedule, project/product delivery and acceptance, project planning and scheduling,
Manage project issues and risk mitigation, change, communication and quality assurance plans
Manage and release project resources throughout the project, with consideration of resource availability, allocation, and other obligations and constraints
Manage vendor(s) and contract(s) as required by the project
Monitor and manage issue tracking and resolution within and around the project
Manage project budget to include any necessary change orders, deviations, and/or changes in resources, including facilitation of proper approvals as required
Prepare any project status reports as required and other project update communications requested
Manage project scope, schedule and budget and, as necessary, any required project change requests
Foster and promote team collaboration, teamwork and individual and team growth opportunities
Coordinate and facilitate project team meetings including, for example, daily/weekly/monthly meetings, routine Core Team meetings, and Executive updates.
Coordinate with the training team to ensure training plans are developed and executed accordingly
Coordinate with Firm Risk Management Security Team to ensure the project meets InfoSec requirements
Close/Transition into Product Ownership
Ensure the transition of a project's outputs/product delivery into ongoing Product Management, ensuring a Product Management process is established, with ownership and governance designed and assigned as required.
Obtain formal project acceptance from the sponsor
Prepare necessary documentation and facilitate project closure (including lessons learned, archiving, project sponsor sign-off, etc.)
Provide project team members with performance feedback
Ensure any consultants that were onboarded are off boarded upon completion of the project
Non-project specific responsibilities:
Participate in Tax Transformation activities which include, but are not limited to, the following:
Prepare and participate in project prioritization and portfolio management as necessary
Promote project management best practices
Promote high level of confidentiality, sensitivity, and professionalism as projects may require
Solicit and provide feedback as needed to develop skills and identify areas of opportunity
Participate in or manage special projects/assignments as requested, e.g. special committees or temporary work teams, BU/DU events, etc.
Manage Tax Transformation project tracking and reporting as needed (weekly/monthly/annually)
Qualifications:
Minimum 6 years of experience in delivering strong results orientated project management skills with highly effective follow-through to ensure delivery. Must be detail orientated with a focus on planning and organization. Minimum 6 years of experience in relationship management - must demonstrate customer focus, highly effective communication skills (written and verbal), a win-win approach to meeting business requirements, and experience working with leadership level stakeholders as well as resolving conflicts. Minimum 6 years of experience demonstrating ability to build quick and effective work rapport with others. Needs to be able to facilitate groups to achieve required objectives and goals as a team. Minimum 6 years of experience operating in agile, adaptable roles and learning new business processes. Needs to have knowledge of process improvement techniques and the ability to develop improvement action plans with groups. Minimum 6 years of experience with project performance metrics, change management, and requirements gathering. Experience with highly confidential and/or sensitive projects considered a plus
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification required.
Travel may be required to perform job duties
As required, work after-hours and during maintenance periods based upon project requirements

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Crowe, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
