Your Day as an Industrial Controls Electrician
Picture the start of your shift: a line is down, a servo drive shows a fault, and production needs a fast, safe resolution. You step in—diagnose the issue, confer with mechanics and your supervisor, and apply the right corrective action. From control panel builds to plant-wide power distribution, you’re the go-to pro for electrical reliability.
What You’ll Tackle
- Test, diagnose, and repair malfunctioning machinery; align corrective actions with mechanics and supervisors.
- Apply NEC knowledge to keep the facility compliant with all safety protocols.
- Leverage experience with complex manufacturing operations (preferred).
- Build and install control panels (24–480V) from electrical prints and schematics.
- Work with digital and analog I/O and industrial networking; Ethernet and fiber experience preferred.
- Support teammates of varied skill levels—offer guidance and share knowledge.
- Develop strong relationships with maintenance colleagues, outside contractors, and vendors.
- Troubleshoot and maintain servo systems, servo amplifiers, and servo controllers.
- Proactively identify and correct electrical issues across the facility and grounds.
- Bend and install multiple conduit types; size wire and conduit properly, terminate conductors based on distance and FLA.
- Work confidently with 24V–480V power.
- Install, maintain, and repair facility, grounds, and industrial electrical power systems (low and high voltage).
- Read and interpret electrical schematics accurately.
- Diagnose electric motors, motor controls, and device control problems.
- Troubleshoot and repair sensors and solid-state components.
- Identify and order parts and materials using manufacturers’ manuals and prints.
- Communicate instructions clearly in writing and verbally.
- Other duties as assigned.
Food Safety at Ken’s Foods
- Produce product free of contamination.
- Follow all Ken’s Foods Security and GMP policies.
- Report any suspicious activity in or around the plant.
- Continuously inspect your work area for potential product contamination issues.

- Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all measurement units using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Compute rate, ratio, and percent; draw and interpret bar graphs.

- Interpret instructions delivered in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Physical Demands
Expect frequent standing, walking, manual dexterity, and reaching. Occasional sitting; climbing/balancing; stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; and talking/hearing. Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 lbs; occasionally lift and/or move over 100 lbs. Specific vision requirement: ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment
You’ll frequently be near moving mechanical parts. At times you may work in wet/humid areas; at heights; around fumes/airborne particles; with toxic/caustic chemicals; outdoors; in extreme cold or heat; and with risk of electrical shock. Noise levels are typically loud.
