Transportation ITS & Traffic Engineer
- Assist in the planning, design, and production of engineering drawings.
- Participate in conducting engineering investigations and planning work by completing well-defined tasks. These tasks may include collection and analysis of data using established procedures, performance of routine calculations, and participation in evaluating the feasibility of alternate solutions.
- Prepare reports working under the close review of an experienced professional.
- Support staff on site visits by assisting in record-keeping and in generating progress reports.
- Research the feasibility of design approaches, site conditions, and/or regulatory agency specifications or regulations.
- Perform engineering calculations.
- Perform field observations of construction where appropriate.
- Perform other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.
- Coordinate within organization unit to ensure consistency with policies and procedures.
- EXPERIENCE:
- 0-2 Years of professional experience in related technical field.
- EDUCATION:
- Completion of Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited college/university.
- SPECIAL SKILLS:
- Basic computer skills required to enter data into spreadsheets or databases.
- Math skills to perform simple calculations.
- Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, or OpenRoads (preferred)
- Proficient interpersonal and communication skills.
- Willingness to learn!
- PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATIONS:
- E.I. or E.I.T. (preferred)
