Visual Merchandiser Graphic Designer

Job Summary
This role is responsible for developing and executing creative concepts for product packaging, visual merchandising displays, and marketing materials that effectively communicate the outdoor products brands. A strong understanding of influencing customers, visual hierarchy, and the ability to translate complex information into compelling and engaging visuals are a must. As the #1 outdoor living solutions manufacturer in North America, this role will work with a diverse set of business leaders and be able to successfully translate concepts to action and influence.

This role is a hybrid in Atlanta, GA.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop innovative and eye-catching packaging designs for a wide range of building products, including concrete dry mixes, hardscapes, fence, decking, mulch and other outdoor product brands.
- Facilitate consistent interpretation of brand creative direction across multiple brands delivering the brand’s promise and customer experience through packaging design and copy. Ensure packaging designs are consistent with brand guidelines and effectively communicate product features and benefits.
- Conduct competitive analysis and incorporate industry best practices into packaging design.
- Manage the packaging design process from concept to production, including working with Oldcastle APG product management and operations teams along with printers and other vendors.
- Develop and implement creative visual merchandising displays for retail environments delivering engaging and informative signage and displays that highlight product features and benefits.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to ensure visual merchandising displays are aligned with sales and marketing objectives.
- Conduct field visits to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of visual merchandising displays.
- When necessary, design a variety of marketing materials, including brochures, flyers, posters, and digital assets. Ensure all marketing materials are consistent with brand guidelines and effectively communicate key messages.
- Stay up to date on industry trends and best practices in design and marketing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that the packaging and display experiences optimally communicate the brand’s value proposition and resonate with the target audience across various channels.
Job Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in graphic design, packaging design, or visual merchandising.
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or a related field.
- Strong portfolio that demonstrates a strong understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and visual hierarchy.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
- Experience with 3D design software (e.g., SketchUp, Rhino) a plus.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Team-player mentality with an openness to receive and execute feedback, collaborative approach to working with cross-functional partners.
- Excellent presentation skills and the ability to communicate confidently and professionally.
- Passion for the construction industry and building products a plus.
