Job Summary

The Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) represents the face of the company to patients visiting for routine health assessments or critical diagnostic testing. This role involves collecting and preparing quality blood specimens while maintaining patient trust, confidentiality, and adherence to clinical protocols.

The PSR II will perform venipunctures and capillary collections skillfully and accurately while providing excellent customer service and ensuring process excellence across patient interactions.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.

• Maintain a safe and professional environment for patients and staff.

• Confidently perform forensic and clinical specimen collection following established protocols.

• Verify patient identity and ensure specimens are labeled in the presence of the patient.

• Maintain all required records and documentation for regulatory compliance.

• Promote a positive and professional image to patients, clients, and the public.

• Travel to various Patient Service Centers or In-Office Phlebotomy sites as needed.

• Demonstrate organizational commitment and uphold company policies, dress code, and safety standards.

• Communicate effectively with supervisors, peers, and patients in a transparent and courteous manner.

• Handle multiple priorities efficiently in a high-volume clinical setting.

Job Requirements

• Proven ability to provide error-free, high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.

• Independent worker with minimal on-site supervision.

• Excellent phlebotomy skills , including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

• Flexible to work weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime as required.

• Must have reliable transportation , a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record.

• Must be punctual and committed to full-shift coverage; excessive tardiness or absenteeism will result in termination.

• Must reside within a 20–25 minute commute of the worksite.

Required Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent required .

• Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.

• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

Work Experience

• Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience , including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

• At least 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.

• Customer service experience in a retail or healthcare environment preferred.

• Proficiency in keyboard/data entry .
