Job Summary :

Jacobs Realtors is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Mortgage Loan Processor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and processing mortgage loan applications from the initial submission to the final closing. This role requires exceptional communication skills, a thorough understanding of mortgage lending guidelines, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The Mortgage Loan Processor will act as a key liaison between borrowers, loan officers, underwriters, and third-party vendors to ensure a smooth and timely closing process.

Responsibilities :

• Application Review and Verification:

• Review and verify all documents submitted by the borrower for accuracy and completeness, including credit reports, income statements, bank statements, and tax returns.

• Verify employment, income, and assets to ensure they meet lender guidelines.

• Order and review third-party documentation such as appraisals, title searches, and flood certifications.

• File Management:

• Organize and manage multiple loan files in a digital and/or physical format.

• Prepare and submit a complete and compliant loan file to the underwriter for approval.

• Monitor the loan application process from beginning to end, ensuring all deadlines are met.

• Communication and Coordination:

• Serve as the primary point of contact for borrowers, providing regular updates on the status of their loan.

• Communicate effectively with loan officers, underwriters, and closing departments to address any issues or deficiencies.

• Liaise with third-party vendors, including appraisers, title companies, and insurance agents, to ensure all necessary documents are received in a timely manner.

• Problem Resolution:

• Identify and resolve potential issues or discrepancies in loan files to prevent delays.

• Work with the underwriting team to clear conditions and satisfy all requirements for final approval.

• Compliance:

• Ensure all loan files are processed in strict compliance with federal, state, and company regulations.

• Stay current with changes in mortgage lending laws and industry standards.

Qualifications :

• Experience:

• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Mortgage Loan Processor or in a related role within the mortgage industry.

• Proven track record of managing and closing a high volume of loan files.

• Skills:

• Strong understanding of conventional, FHA, VA, and other loan programs.

• Proficiency with loan origination software (LOS) and other mortgage-related systems.

• Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a deadline-driven environment.

• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.

• Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent required. A college degree is a plus.
