Job Summary
The Revenue Controller ensures accurate, timely, and compliant revenue recognition across all global operations. Reporting to the controllers group, this role manages multi-region revenue processes, supports strategic decisions, leads a team, assists during month-end close, prepares audit documentation, and drives process improvements. The ideal candidate has deep US GAAP knowledge, strong analytical skills, and experience working with complex contracts and ERP systems.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure accurate global revenue recognition in accordance with US GAAP and company policies
Monitor and enforce compliance across all regions
Review and analyze customer contracts for revenue implications and provide guidance on structuring
Lead and mentor a revenue accounting team, providing training and performance feedback
Support month-end close activities related to revenue
Prepare audit documentation and liaise with external auditors
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance revenue accounting efficiency and accuracy
Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Legal, and Operations to ensure proper revenue treatment for new contracts, products, and services
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA license mandatory
8+ years of revenue accounting or controllership experience in a global organization
Expertise in US GAAP revenue recognition standards (ASC 606)
Proven experience managing complex, multi-region revenue processes
ERP system experience (SAP, Oracle) and familiarity with revenue automation tools
Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills
