Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Acute Care Medical Surgical Duration: 17 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty License: Active RN License Required Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: ACLS preferred Description: Strict 75-mile radius rule applies. Submit the traveler's address from their driver's license with application. The unit has 141 beds for both day and night shifts, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6. Candidates must be able to manage this patient ratio. BLS is required, with ACLS preferred and NIHSS certification mandatory. A minimum of 2 years of experience in the medical surgical specialty is required. Experience with patients with conditions such as diabetes, CHF, COPD, GI bleed, renal failure, and on dialysis is essential. The facility handles overflow post-surgical cases, amputations, debridements, wound care, DVTs, and patients with alcohol-related issues. Monitored patients are located in a separate unit. Nurses are not required to read cardiac strips but may do so if necessary. CNA-to-patient ratio is generally 1:12 but may vary depending on staffing needs. CPAP is available, and BiPAP is utilized only at night. All shifts are scheduled from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM in 12-hour increments. Every other weekend coverage is required. Rotation with permanent staff is necessary. Nurses will care for all acute medical and some cardiac patients. Experience in high-acuity, fast-paced settings is critical. Candidates must prioritize patient satisfaction and quality of care. Patient safety is of utmost importance. Primary care nursing practices will be followed. No personal bags are allowed at the nursing station; secure lockers are available. Strict attendance policy is enforced. Nail polish is permitted, but artificial or shellac nails are prohibited to reduce infection rates. Charting is conducted using the MEDITECH system.
