Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of complex networking and systems escalations (Tier 3 and 4) to relieve senior team members of high-level issues
• Design, configure, and manage advanced switching and routing technologies, including BGP and EIGRP
• Oversee the deployment and maintenance of virtualized infrastructures (primarily VMware)
• Manage and support Fortinet firewalls and other security solutions
• Collaborate closely with the team to implement network and systems solutions, troubleshooting, and optimizing overall performance
• Engage in threat hunting activities, proactively identifying and mitigating security risks
• Mentor junior team members, providing guidance and expertise in complex troubleshooting, best practices, and career development
• Work cross-functionally to ensure network and system reliability, performance, and scalability
• Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of systems, networks, configurations, and troubleshooting processes
• Demonstrate attention to detail in everything from system configurations to issue resolution, ensuring high-quality, reliable solutions
• Foster a team player mentality, working closely with others to achieve departmental and organizational goals

Requirements:

• Proven experience in advanced networking and systems engineering roles
• In-depth knowledge of BGP and EIGRP, with the ability to configure and troubleshoot these protocols
• Expertise in VMware virtual infrastructures and associated technologies
• Solid experience working with Fortinet security appliances, including firewalls and VPNs
• Strong understanding of network security and a hands-on approach to threat hunting
• A team-oriented mindset with a collaborative approach to problem-solving
• Ability to mentor and guide junior engineers, promoting knowledge sharing and skills development
• High level of attention to detail in all tasks, from networking configurations to troubleshooting
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
