Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and creative Cake Decorator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking and decorating cakes, with a strong understanding of culinary techniques and food safety practices. This role involves creating visually appealing cakes for various occasions while ensuring exceptional customer service and satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Decorate cakes to meet customer specifications, including birthdays, weddings, and special events.
- Collaborate with customers to design custom cake decorations that align with their vision.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the decorating area in compliance with food safety standards.
- Assist in the preparation of cake batters, icings, and fillings as needed.
- Upsell additional products to customers while providing excellent service.
- Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently during customer interactions.
- Monitor inventory levels of decorating supplies and report any shortages to management.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
- Proven experience in cake decorating or a related culinary field is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage with clients effectively.
- Familiarity with food service operations in a grocery store or café setting is a plus.
- Basic understanding of retail math for managing inventory and sales transactions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Creativity and artistic skills in cake design are highly valued.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
