Shuttle Driver

Applying to this role will provide ongoing consideration, but you may only be contacted if a future shift opens up** JOB PURPOSEThe Shuttle Driver role is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of students and staff between AIS campuses and designated sites. The position will also involve routine tasks that support the safe and reliable functioning of our fleet, including pre-/post-trip inspections, maintaining repair records, and promptly reporting issues. Flexibility and adaptability to schedule needs will be key to success in this role.

Key Responsibilities
1. Student Transportation
- Operate school-owned shuttles safely between AIS campuses and local drop-off/pick-up points.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and report issues promptly.
- Maintain a safe, calm environment on-board in compliance with school transportation policies.
- Report delays, incidents, or safety concerns to the Director of Operations immediately.
- Ensure student accountability during loading/unloading and adhere to traffic laws at all times.
2. General Support
- Help transport and deliver materials, supplies, and packages between campus buildings as needed.
- Support strategic Operations projects as capacity and transportation demands allow.
3. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all AIS transportation safety procedures and Georgia state driving regulations.
- Maintain clean, organized shuttle interiors and exteriors.
- Assist with emergency preparedness procedures related to school transport as needed.
- Communicate professionally with students, staff, and parents to represent AIS operations.
4. Vehicle Care & Reporting
- Track mileage, fuel use, and maintenance needs; ensure vehicle is fueled and operational each day.
- Complete daily logs and submit reports on transportation activities and incidents.
- Coordinate with the Operations Coordinator and Facilities team for vehicle maintenance scheduling.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Georgia driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years of driving experience (school, shuttle, or commercial preferred)
- Strong communication, dependability, and flexibility
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to sit for extended periods while driving
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, assist with physical tasks, and work both indoors and outdoors
- Must be able to perform duties in a variety of weather conditions
WORK ENVIRONMENT & SCHEDULING
- Primary work location: Buckhead Campus (with inter-campus travel as needed)
- Standard hours: Varies, but not to exceed 6.5 hours/day (includes 30 minute daily lunch break for shifts exceeding 5 hours)

- May occasionally require adjusted hours for early dismissals, events, or emergencies
- Daily coordination with Facilities, Security, and Operations teams
