The Lead Senior Paralegal is a highly experienced legal professional responsible for overseeing the daily workflow of the family law paralegal team, managing high-level casework, and leading the training and development of new and existing paralegals. With at least 5 years of family law experience and 3 years of proven training and mentorship success, this role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about developing others while delivering exceptional legal support.
Compensation:$95,000
Responsibilities:Key Responsibilities:
- Manage complex family law matters including divorce, custody, modifications, legitimation, child support, paternity, TPOs, and contempt actions.
- Draft and prepare pleadings, financial affidavits, discovery, subpoenas, trial exhibits, and final orders.
- Coordinate all phases of litigation including intake, case strategy, discovery, pre-trial preparation, mediation, and trial.
- Organize and maintain accurate and up-to-date case files, both digitally and physically.
- Design and lead structured onboarding programs for new paralegals.
- Provide hands-on training in drafting, legal software, court procedures, and best practices..
- Deliver monthly skills workshops or refreshers on key legal tasks (e.g., discovery management, court filing procedures, client communication).
- Serve as the team’s subject matter expert on court rules, formatting standards, and deadlines.
- Supervise junior paralegals and legal assistants, reviewing their work for accuracy and timeliness.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of paralegal experience in family law .
- Minimum 3 years of experience training or mentoring paralegals.
- Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved institution.
- Extensive knowledge of Georgia family law , including court rules, filings, and litigation timelines.
- Proficiency in legal case management software ( MyCase).
- Strong writing, communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience supervising a legal support team.
- Bilingual (Spanish or another language) is a plus.
