Mechanical Technician - Reflector
We have an outstanding Contract position for a Mechanical Technician - Reflector to join a leading Company located in the Suwanee, GA surrounding area.
The primary role of this position is to perform mechanical assembly of various precision assemblies of Reflector products, including back structures and stands. The Mechanical Technician – Reflector position involves the assemblyand installation ofa low-volume, high-technology, high-variation product mix, produced in a project-driven, build-to-order production workingenvironment.
Responsibilities:
- Fasten components or parts together, using hand tools, structural adhesives, torque wrenches, and welding equipment.
- Positions and aligns components for assembly, manually or utilizing various material handling tools and equipment.
- Read assembly blueprints, schematics, and specification manuals, and assist with assembly, rework, repair, and safe lifting and movement of delicate heavy products.
- Clean materials as required to allow proper adhesion of paints and glues.
- Inspect and test parts and accessories for leakage, defects, or functionality, using electronic, optical, and mechanical test equipment.
- Set and verifies clearance of parts.
- Set-up and installation of back structures, stands, reflector panels, and associated products.
- Verify conformance of parts to stock list and blueprints, using measuring instruments, such as calipers, tape measures, micrometers, and indicators.
- Lay out, drill, ream, tap, and cut parts for assembly.
- Perform Preventative Maintenance per instructionsand update checklists.
- Examine parts upon M.O. receiptand during build for defects such as improper fit, breakage, and excessive wear.
- Fabrication of panels and structures, requiring material cutting, clamping, gluing, lifting, and painting.
- Work with little supervision in field installation scenarios.
- Ability to manually lift/move up to 45 pounds.
Basic Hiring Criteria:
- High School Diploma or equivalent, Associate's degree preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of machine building/assembly experience or a combination of applicable coursework and job experience.
- This position will require domestic and international travel, approximately 30% of the time.
Desired Qualifications:
- Cut and weld metal to repair broken metalparts, fabricate new parts, and assemble new equipment.
- MIG and TIG Welding capabilities.
- Set upand operate metalworking equipment such asmilling, drilling, turning, and grinding machinery to shape or fabricate parts.
- Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, ElectricalEngineering backgroundisdesirable.
