Position Type: Contract

Pay: $30 - $35 / Hour

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist for a contract engagement supporting a fast-paced accounting team. This role is responsible for managing AP processes accurately and efficiently while contributing to a collaborative, values-driven work environment. The ideal candidate brings strong technical AP knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Process and review vendor invoices for accuracy, proper coding, and approvals
• Manage vendor relationships and respond to payment inquiries in a timely and professional manner
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies throughout all AP activity
• Identify and resolve payment discrepancies and process inefficiencies
• Support reconciliation activities and assist with reporting as needed
• Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to align on priorities and resolve AP-related issues
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives to increase accuracy and efficiency
• Perform additional AP duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Strong working knowledge of end-to-end accounts payable processes
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including the ability to build and analyze complex spreadsheets
• Familiarity with GAAP and internal controls
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with vendors, staff, and leadership
• Detail-oriented with solid analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Experience with Workday Financial Management or comparable accounting software preferred
• Project management experience a plus
• Prior supervisory or team leadership experience a plus
