Die‑Casting Equipment Reliability Technician (Intermediate)

Briggs & Stratton
Statesboro, GA

A day in the life

You arrive on the die-casting floor, review overnight SPC charts, and plan the first equipment setups to hit quality targets. A machine trips a hydraulic fault—within minutes you isolate the issue, swap a valve, and bring the cell back online. Between calls, you complete preventative maintenance, adjust process parameters to hold spec, and head to the bench to touch up a fixture and guard. By shift end, you’ve kept production running safely and smoothly.

What you'll tackle

  • Troubleshoot and repair production equipment across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Set up a variety of machines so they’re ready to produce quality die‑cast components
  • Maintain facility structures and utilities, including electrical, heating, plumbing, and machine repair
  • Perform machining and bench work to alter/repair tools, dies, fixtures, jigs, gauges, and guarding
  • Execute preventive maintenance to maximize uptime and equipment reliability
  • Use statistical process charting and trend analysis to interpret performance and make process/equipment adjustments that bring parts into specification
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What you bring

  • Intermediate troubleshooting ability spanning mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic domains
  • Strong teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • General computer skills for basic data entry and analysis
  • Ability to operate a forklift
  • Fluency in English and the primary language used in your work area/location

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1.5 years of technical experience applying mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic skills

Physical & Environmental Requirements

  • Lift/carry products, parts, or materials of varying sizes and weights: frequently 5–25 lbs; occasionally 25–75 lbs; rarely over 75 lbs
  • Stand and/or walk continuously through an 8–12 hour work shift
  • Occasional to frequent pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, twisting, crawling, and reaching across an 8–12 hour shift
  • Use power/vibrating tools for extended periods (8–12 hours)
  • Operate motorized vehicles throughout the shift (8–12 hours)
  • Work in noise levels requiring hearing protection for the full shift (8–12 hours)
