To learn more about Georgia Southern's Vision, Mission and Values please click here: Location Statesboro Campus, Statesboro, GA Department Information Dept of BioChemistry, Chemistry & Physics Job Summary The Postdoctoral Research Associate in Advanced Materials will work with Dr. Wenjie Li's research group on solid state materials synthesis and processing. The research focuses on cutting-edge advanced functional and structural materials, such as thermoelectric, high-entropy materials, elastocaloric, and solid-state hydrogen storage materials. Responsibilities
- Conduct self-directed and directed research in the research project outlined above
- Design and implement high-impact research projects including but not limited to thermoelectric, high-entropy materials, elastocaloric, and solid-state hydrogen storage
- Set up and maintain experimental instruments and equipment
- Develop manuscripts and presentations containing results of assigned research findings
- Assist with development, edit and review project proposals, presentations, and reports
- Manage assignments to graduate assistants and undergraduate researchers as needed
- Oversee student researchers during laboratory experiments
- Oversee data analysis and data management
- Disseminate research results to scientific audiences through peer-reviewed journal articles, conference presentations, and other media
- PhD in relevant field (materials science, chemistry, physics, etc.)
- Author or co-author on publications in a closely related topic
- Expertise in solid-state materials synthesis and processing broadly defined, such as mechanical alloying, melting techniques, sintering, etc.
- Experience with common characterization techniques
- Proficiency in text, graphics, and data processing software
