University College and Student Success Coordinator
: This position is responsible for coordinating academic support services, academic advising and success counseling for first-year students who are University College admits. Responsibilities Coordinate testing needs for University College (UC) applicants. (5%) Oversee Accuplacer (or similar product) testing services needed to meet UC program admission standards. Assist with new student advisement and transition programs for University College cohort. (10%) Contribute to First Year Experience (FYE) Storm Day (new student enrollment) Aid in New Student Orientation and other related transition programs. Serve as academic advisor to University College student in their first year. (40%) Provides academic advisement to student Complete academic check-ins with every UC student in the first half of each semester. Assist with class registration. Counsel student on campus resources to aid in achieving academic and personal goals. Track, monitors and communicate advisee progress. Follow up and assist students who receive academic alerts and/or identified in intervention team meetings, and/or come to the university¿s attention as needing extra support. Monitor and implement strategies for UC student retention. (15%) Track student retention. Identify barriers to persistence for intervention strategies. Regular one-on-one meetings with program students. Coordinate academic course offerings to support programs. (15%) Communicate with program instructors regarding program needs, student issues, and other related Facilitate retention monitoring, assessment, and continuous improvement. (10%) Present program data and initiatives to constituent groups. Lead discussions and planning to address student achievement gaps. Other duties as assigned. (5%) May serve on department, division and/or university committees, work teams, and other assigned. May teach university orientation course(s) or academic support course(s), up to 6 credit hours per semester, Required Qualifications Bachelor¿s degree required. 1 - 3 years of related experienced required. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in a course of study related to the occupational field preferred. Experience with Banner and Degree Works, or similar student records management system, is preferred.
