Job Title: Credit and Collections Specialist
Reports to: Credit and Collections Manager

Summary:
The Credit and Collections Specialist is responsible for managing customer accounts with a focus on credit and collections. This role involves daily interaction with customers regarding past-due accounts, resolving invoice discrepancies, compiling credit information, and reducing delinquency. The specialist will also support account adjustments, credit reviews, and legal collection efforts as needed.

Essential Functions:

Make daily collection calls and follow up on delinquent accounts.

Conduct account research and analysis to resolve payment issues.

Prepare and maintain reports related to collections and accounts receivable.

Send customer statements and prepare collection letters, notices, and lien documents as required.

Reconcile customer accounts and handle billing discrepancies.

Collaborate with sales managers, operations, and senior management to accelerate collections when necessary.

Work with attorneys and sales representatives to evaluate customer creditworthiness and manage collection cases.

Maintain and respond to collection-related emails (waivers, billing issues, short payments, references, etc.).

Perform other tasks as needed to support the Accounts Receivable department.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Minimum 2+ years of accounts receivable and collection experience.

At least 1 year of consumer credit experience; familiarity with credit reports and credit processes.

Knowledge of leasing programs and residual values is a plus.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (advanced Excel a plus).

Experience with liens and lien releases preferred.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and research skills.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
