As a Healthcare Planning Lead, you'll serve as a trusted advisor to healthcare executives, clinical leaders, and governing boards, guiding strategic decisions that influence the future of major healthcare campuses and facilities.

In this role, you'll lead the development of decision-ready planning strategies that support long-term healthcare facility and capital investment initiatives. You'll evaluate complex facility, operational, financial, and campus development considerations, helping clients assess future-state options and align stakeholders around a shared vision. Your leadership will directly support informed decision-making, organizational growth, operational excellence, and enhanced patient care outcomes.

Lead strategic healthcare planning initiatives, including campus master plans, redevelopment studies, facility replacement evaluations, and feasibility studies.

Develop comprehensive analyses to support long-range healthcare facility and capital planning decisions.

Direct multidisciplinary teams performing facility assessments, operational analyses, medical planning, site evaluations, and campus planning activities.

Evaluate alternative campus development, modernization, renovation, and replacement strategies.

Lead development of implementation roadmaps, enabling project strategies, and capital investment recommendations.

Oversee order-of-magnitude cost modeling, escalation forecasting, and planning-level financial analyses.

Facilitate executive-level discussions regarding healthcare infrastructure investments and future facility strategies.

Provide strategic guidance to hospital executives, physicians, facilities leaders, and governing boards.

Assess operational, regulatory, clinical, facility, and financial impacts associated with planning alternatives.

Collaborate with architects, engineers, consultants, healthcare leaders, and community stakeholders to develop objective recommendations.

Build consensus among diverse stakeholder groups and support alignment around strategic planning objectives.

Prepare and present executive- and Board-level planning documents, analyses, and recommendations.

Translate complex operational, facility, and capital planning considerations into actionable business and infrastructure strategies.

Support healthcare organizations in evaluating long-term growth, capacity, and service delivery needs.

Here's what you'll need

Bachelor's degree in Architecture.

Minimum of 20 years of experience in healthcare planning, healthcare architecture, strategic consulting, or healthcare facility development.

Demonstrated experience leading healthcare master plans, campus redevelopment studies, feasibility studies, facility replacement evaluations, and strategic healthcare planning initiatives.

Strong knowledge of healthcare operations, facility assessment methodologies, medical planning, site selection, healthcare dynamics, regulatory processes, capital planning, and healthcare campus development.

Experience advising executive leadership teams, governing boards, and physician leaders on complex healthcare planning and facility development decisions.

Proven experience supporting major academic medical centers, children's hospitals, cancer centers, teaching hospitals, and integrated healthcare campuses.

Demonstrated ability to facilitate stakeholder engagement and build consensus among diverse groups.

Strong analytical skills, including experience evaluating renovation, phased replacement, and greenfield development alternatives.

Experience developing strategic recommendations supported by operational, financial, and facility planning analyses.

Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, including experience preparing executive- and Board-level recommendations and planning documents.

Ability to work within two hours of Eastern Tennessee.

Ideally, you'll also have

Advanced education in healthcare planning, architecture, healthcare administration, strategic planning, or a related field.

Registered Architect (RA) credential.

ASHE certification, Lean Management Institute (LMI) certification, AIA membership, or other relevant healthcare planning credentials.

Posted Salary Range: Minimum

225,000.00

Posted Salary Range: Upper

260,000.00

And certain roles may be eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, performance discretionary bonus, and stock.

The base salary range for this position is $225,000.00 to $260,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
