Leads are responsible for understanding the production process in the department. In this role, you will work as a team to safely produce a large number of quality laminated units to meet our daily, weekly, and monthly production goals.

Summary/Objectives

The Production Lead is an entry level leadership role. The Production Lead is a natural people leader, responsible for engaging team members and improving operational efficiency. This person effectively interacts with other team members to ensure they have the tools/resources needed to complete scheduled work safely and within quality standards.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

• Assist and guide team members within departments in giving positive recognition or corrective action when needed
• Manage departmental performance measures, including visual controls and provides regular progress reports to leadership
• Provide guidance for day-to-day operations to team members as well as specific assignments
• Maintains safe and clean work environment by training and educating personnel on the use of equipment, and resources, maintaining compliance with established safety policies and procedures
• Manage workflow within the department to ensure complete, on-time delivery of quality product to both internal and external customers
• Conduct pre-shift meeting to reinforce safety, quality, and production metrics
• Maintain a professional appearance and conduct, exhibiting a respectful and courteous demeanor at all times.
• Train team members in primary tasks then cross train to develop a flexible and agile team

An ideal candidate should be able to possess:

One or more qualifications below is preferred

• 3 years of leadership experience
• Military experience with honorable discharge
• OSHA 10 Certification
• LEAN Certification or other types of production system training (Six Sigma, JIT, ISO)
• Knowledge of LG processes and production workflow

Minimum Requirements

• Associates degree in Business, Engineering, or equivalent experience
• Minimum of one year leadership experience
• Strong communication and public speaking
• Knowledge of production tools and equipment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
• Requires regular, in-person attendance at the facility
• Must be able to handle sensitive related and proprietary information in a confidential manner
• Ability to exercise good judgment in decision making, ideas, and all aspects relating to the SBLG team, Cardinal Glass Industries, and other company relationships.
• Ability to establish credibility and be decisive, but still able to recognize and support the organization's mission
• Ability to work as part of a team including but not limited to members of management, employees throughout Cardinal and vendor partnerships.
