Company information

· A leading supplier of plastics and metal fastening products and technology

· Products include: Plastic and metal fasteners for automotive market. This includes trim fasteners, fuel supply springs, fuel cut valves, fuel pump brackets, and interior auto trim parts.

· Processes include: Plastic injection molding, metal stamping, wire bending and assembly.

· Equipment include: 72+ injection molding presses

· Materials include: PP, PE, Acetal, Nylon, ABS and PVC.

Description:

This individual supervises employees within the distribution department. He or she will plan, direct, coordinate, and control the distribution activities occurring on their shift in an effort to meet or exceed departmental goals.

Requirements:

· Bachelor's degree in Logistics Management or similar field is preferred but not required

· High School Diploma or GED required.

· Minimum of 5 years related experience supervising direct hourly employees in a distribution or warehouse environment.

· Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is preferred

· Experience with Transportation Operations (BOL creation, scheduling shipments, filing claims, etc…) is preferred.

· Receiving experience ( unloading trucks and sea containers, handling documentation, C-TPAT awareness is preferred.

• Experience with Lean Manufacturing Principles
• Experience with SAP is preferred, but not required.
• Knowledge of relevant computer applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet)
• Good verbal and written communication and effective team building skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and prioritize accordingly.

· Blue print reading and knowledge of metrics.

Responsibilities:

• Actively participate in creating and maintaining a safe work environment
• Supervises the activities of the department
• Assists with training, support and guidance; contributes to the performance evaluation process; provide positive reinforcement, constructive criticism and disciplinary actions as appropriate.
• Helps determine the manpower requirements consistent with the volume and budget levels authorizing overtime as necessary for their shift or work group.
• Directs, supervises, and coordinates daily tasks and activities.
• Organizes and assigns work to utilize available skills, knowledge, experience, and labor hours to obtain highest levels of productivity.
• Oversees performance of automated equipment and other tools in an effort to have a proactive approach to preventative maintenance and avoid downtime.
• Initiate and/or participate in continuous improvement and lean projects (SGA).
• Initiates or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
• Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
• Ensure quality product is being produced at the standard rate while minimizing scrap and down time.
• Ensure all company policies and procedures are being followed.
• Identify and resolve issues
• Ensures work teams follow standard work procedures
• Other associated duties
