Receiving Specialist (Part Time, 25hrs) Tropical Shell & Gifts Savannah

Position Purpose
The Receiving Specialist is responsible for the processing of Purchase Orders of merchandise, for the Distribution Center and the stores it supports. The purpose is to ensure that the retail locations have a continuous flow of merchandise to sell. This position uses the company software and other tools to reach these goals.

REQUIREMENTS
Essential Functions
- Create and processes source documents for financial transactions by compiling, reviewing for accuracy, coding, scanning, and sorting information.
- Follow department procedures while working with buyers, store managers, and vendors to resolve discrepancies
- Track pending credits using an Excel spreadsheet
- Using a keyboard to enter data in specific fields
- Abide by all policies, procedures, and programs
Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities
- High degrees of self-motivation, and the ability to work independently over long periods of time or as part of a team within the scope of established rules and regulations
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, spreadsheets, emails, office machines, managing files/records, and other office procedures and terminology
- Ability to identify, gather and analyze information, exhibit sound and accurate judgements, and make timely decisions.
- Ability to give full attention to what other people are saying, taking the time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
- Effective oral and written communication skills in English, including the ability to clearly express thoughts to others and exchange information.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Formal computer training preferred

- Must pass pre-employment background check and substance abuse testing.
