Commercial HVAC Estimator / Project Manager

Description
H & H Mechanical is seeking an experienced and motivated Estimator / Project Manager to lead multi-trade, heavy commercial HVAC construction projects. This key role combines estimating, project management, and client relations to deliver turnkey, high-quality results.

The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise, excellent communication and leadership skills, and the ability to oversee all aspects of a project, from bid to closeout, with a focus on safety, profitability, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead estimating, quoting, negotiations, and full-scope project management for commercial HVAC construction and change orders.
• Develop accurate cost estimates, budgets, and comprehensive project timelines.
• Coordinate and schedule projects based on client requirements and field availability.
• Collaborate closely with site supervisors and field teams to ensure quality workmanship and adherence to plans and specifications.
• Partner with internal teams (operations, accounting, billing) to manage project documentation, invoicing, and financial performance.
• Maintain strong client relationships through clear communication, professionalism, and timely issue resolution.
• Manage subcontractors and suppliers—evaluating pricing, performance, and reliability to ensure competitive project delivery.
• Conduct site surveys, develop scopes of work, and ensure compliance with permitting and inspection requirements.
• Support new business development through sales calls and client engagement.
• Promote teamwork across all divisions to achieve company goals and uphold the H & H Mechanical mission and values.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of construction experience, including at least 1 year in estimating or project management.
• Strong understanding of mechanical construction processes, drawings, and specifications.
• Proven ability to coordinate multiple projects, schedules, and stakeholders.
• Skilled in client and vendor negotiation, risk assessment, and problem-solving.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and construction management or job cost software.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to represent H & H Mechanical at industry events.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and participate in a drug-free workplace program.
• OSHA 30 Certification required.
