Overview
Speech Language Pathologist – Travel assignment in Cumming, Georgia. Start date 04/25/2026 for 13 weeks. Guaranteed hours: 40 per week. Shift: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Setting: acute care hospital department serving a wide range of medical and surgical diagnoses. Weekly pay range: $1,774 to $1,869 per week.

Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive speech-language pathology services to adult inpatients across multiple units, including ICU, stroke/neurological, dysphagia, respiratory, and cognitive pathways.
- Screen, evaluate, diagnose, and treat communication and swallowing disorders; document progress and outcomes in the medical record; participate in discharge planning.
- Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans; monitor progress and adjust goals as needed; educate patients and families on management strategies.
- Conduct dysphagia assessments and contribute to airway protection planning; coordinate referrals for MBS (modified barium swallow) or FEES when appropriate (proficiency preferred, not required).
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams; participate in rounds and provide clear clinical recommendations to support patient outcomes.
- Maintain regulatory and infection control standards; ensure accurate documentation and adherence to HIPAA and hospital policies.

Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist in the specialty
- AHA BLS certification required
- Prior acute care experience preferred
- MBS/FEES proficiency preferred but not required
- Ability to work effectively in a high-acuity, hospital-based setting and manage a diverse inpatient caseload
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
