Position Description
As a Product Manager, you’ll work closely with one other Product Manager to operate, maintain, and grow the mobile application for U.S. Soccer. The role will focus on the mobile app.
You’ll manage product backlogs, write user stories, generate acceptance criteria, lead scrum meetings, and learn every step of our Agile development process to ensure applications function as intended and features are delivered on time. You’ll also work closely with Marketing, Insider, Advancement, Soccer Forward, Coaches and Ref departments.
Primary Responsibilities
- Work with Marketing, Advancement, Soccer Forward and other internal stakeholders to ensure the mobile app is working as expected
- Develop regular reporting on user behavior and flow, turning data into insights to help the team formulate successful strategies and tactics
- Coordinate tasks among cross-functional team and mitigate impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint goals
- Assess value, develop cases, prioritize product feature backlog to ensure team is focused on delivering maximum value
- Run agile ceremonies with internal and external team members. This includes working closely with other internal product managers
- Facilitate communication between internal stakeholders and delivery team members
- Perform extensive QA before and during new feature launches as well as regular checks of main acquisition flows across website and app
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Highly detail-oriented
- 3+ years of product experience
- Strong curiosity in content-driven technology platforms
- Familiarity with common software development practices (Agile, Waterfall)
- Proficient in mining insights from Google Analytics or other web analytics tools
- Deep understanding of the digital marketing landscape and emerging technologies
- Team-first attitude and excellent interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional time management skills
- Able and willing to work non-traditional hours including evenings and weekends as needed (USMNT and USWNT match days)
- General knowledge of soccer
- Capable of working in fast-paced and demanding environments
- Must be able to connect “micro” details to the “macro” vision and mission
- Proficient experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working on consumer facing products in the following industries: Sports, Media, Entertainment or Gaming
- Experience programming marketing journeys within an orchestration tool or email service provider
- Experience managing a CMS platform
- Experience with Customer Data Platforms / CRM Databases
