ACCOUNTS PAYABLE
Position Summary:The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for accurately processing and managing all accounts payable activities for the dealership, ensuring timely payment of invoices, vendor reconciliations, and compliance with company policies. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively within a fast-paced dealership environment. Key Responsibilities: * Process, code, and enter invoices into the dealership’s accounting system in a timely and accurate manner. * Review and verify invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports for accuracy and compliance with dealership policies. * Prepare and process weekly check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers to vendors. * Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. * Maintain organized accounts payable files, both electronic and physical. * Communicate with vendors and internal departments regarding invoice questions, payment status, and discrepancies. * Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes as needed. * Maintain and update vendor records, including W-9 forms and contact information. * Assist with audits by providing documentation and responding to inquiries. * Support other accounting and administrative tasks as needed. Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in accounting or finance preferred. * 1–3 years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting, preferably in an automotive dealership or similar retail environment. * Proficiency with accounting software (Dealertrack, CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, or similar systems preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. * Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills. * Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. * Strong verbal and written communication skills. * Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Working Conditions: * Fast-paced dealership office environment. * Occasional overtime may be required during peak accounting periods. Physical Requirements: * Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
