Shipping Team Lead

What you'll be doing:

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the shift with constant emphasis on safety, quality, delivery and cost.
• Acts as first point of contact for operators regarding mechanical failure or production issues.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and enforce control procedures, recommending improvements to the Plant Superintendent, as appropriate.
• Coordinates production activities with other departments to ensure production goals/objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.
• Monitor production activities to eliminate waste and ensure adherence to production and shipping schedules.
• Input production data accurately into the system to measure and monitor KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) around efficiencies, downtime, inventory and overall production.
• Provide freight quotes as requested
• Generate Proforma Invoice as requested
• Prepare shipping and export documentation required for international shipments.
• Coordinate with sales/customer service team to promote accurate and timely processing of orders for customers
• Ensure compliance with safety, security, regulatory, and company policies
• Communicate with sales/service and other functional areas to resolve customer problems in a timely manner
• Provide support to Sales/customer service team
• Perform other tasks within the SRI team, as and when needed
• Maintain international customer profile and relevant customer information as well as task specific SOP's

What you'll need:

• FedEx shipping software experience.
• International shipping experience and knowledge of customs requirements.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel
• Preferably DOT/DG certified
