The opportunity

• Position: CNC Machining Setup Specialist, Metals
• Reports to: Manufacturing Manager
• Employment: Full-time
• Location: On-site, Gainesville, GA
• Hours: 2nd shift, 2:55pm–11:05pm

Your impact

• Own machine readiness: start and validate production, complete changeovers, and manage tooling.
• Operate CNC equipment and make limited program/offset tweaks to stabilize processes.
• Diagnose issues on CNC machines and peripherals; perform minor repairs and escalate larger problems promptly.
• Handle materials correctly; perform inspections and enter results in the quality system.
• Document production accurately and on schedule to maintain traceability.
• Work to IATF 16949 standards; follow IQI procedures and sustain FIFO flow.
• Model a safety-first mindset and high standards of 5S housekeeping.
• Collaborate across the team, lending a hand on difficult tasks to keep output on track.
• Contribute wherever needed with other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Vocational or certificate training is a plus.
• High-volume manufacturing experience: minimum 1 year; 2+ years preferred.
• Clear reading of work instructions; effective written and verbal communication.
• Organized, detail-focused, and technically adept with solid troubleshooting skills.
• Foundational CNC knowledge across maintenance, setup, and operation.
• Comfort using metric units; basic metrology familiarity preferred.
• Exposure to quality systems preferred; moderate computer proficiency.
• Basic G-code programming knowledge preferred.

Physical requirements

• Lift up to 50 lbs (heavier with crane support).
• Push/pull up to 80 lbs using material handling equipment.
• Stand and walk continuously; frequent bending and reaching (outward/overhead).
• Occasional climbing, crawling, squatting, kneeling, working at heights, and in narrow areas.
