Position Summary:
The Technical Product Manager is responsible for Product Ownership and works alongside PLM and R&D, in a collaborative, self-organizing way to fulfill the role. The role is responsible for delivering product value. That involves working with Stakeholders and customers, to understand their needs, developing a vision for the product development project, and creating a Product Backlog to achieve the vision. The Technical Product Manager maintains a prioritized Product Backlog and guides the Development Team, without dictating implementation details or sprint scope. This is a hybrid role that is based part time in our Duluth office and part time in the candidate's home office.
Position Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with PLM to shape and communicate the product vision and roadmap.
- Map short-term Features to releases and manage the creation of those releases.
- Translate product requirements into clear and actionable backlog items that are prioritized for development work.
- Participate in Scrum Events including Sprint Planning and Sprint Reviews. May also attend Sprint Retrospectives.
- Foster built-in quality and technical agility.
- Evaluate the product increment after each Sprint and provide input to determine whether the Development Team has met the definition of “done”.
- Update delivery dates for defined releases based on progress at the end of each Sprint.
- Build and maintain a relationship with stakeholders and customers, as necessary.
- Clearly communicate development goals, status, and business objectives between the Scrum Team and Stakeholders to ensure there is alignment on key business objectives.
- Periodic travel to meet with customers and other stakeholders is expected.
Position Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in Product Ownership, Technical Product Management, or related roles.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate complex information to technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development and learning.
- A cooperative problem solver with logical decision-making abilities.
- Self-motivated and result-oriented team player.
- Desirable:
- Experience working with CDN or video streaming platforms.
- Experience with the Atlassian suite of products (JIRA, Confluence, etc.) or other comparable work management software.
