Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Transportation Coordinator with LTL and/or Full Truckload experience to manage daily transportation operations. This role requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to efficiently dispatch and manage freight using a Transportation Management System (TMS).
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize specialized TMS software to manage freight movements
- Execute customer transportation requests in the most efficient and cost-effective manner
- Dispatch loads and coordinate on-demand, scheduled, and routed work
- Collaborate with customers, drivers, and internal teams to resolve issues promptly
- Provide exceptional service to both internal and external customers
Essential Functions
- Assist customers via phone, email, and fax with inquiries including:
- Rate quotes
- Shipment tracing
- Tariff discrepancies
- Billing and invoicing questions
- Identify and resolve documentation errors
- Process over, short, and damaged (OS&D) freight claims and related documentation
- Properly bill shipments according to applicable tariffs and pricing agreements
- Resolve driver-related issues in a timely and professional manner
- Support management with special assignments as needed
- Answer and direct phone calls
- Perform filing, data entry, and administrative support tasks
- Act as backup support during team member absences
Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of LTL or Full Truckload experience required
- OS&D experience preferred
- Brokering and negotiation skills preferred
- Strong customer service mindset
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong computer, typing, and 10-key skills
- Detail-oriented, accurate, and analytical
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and make business decisions based on multiple data sources
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated, dependable, and professional
- Strong time management, organizational, and multitasking abilities
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Reliable attendance and ability to perform additional duties as assigned
