We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join one of our clients finance team in Duluth, GA. This role is responsible for managing the full cycle of financial reporting and accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of financial packages to internal stakeholders and clients. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of GAAP, excellent analytical skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepared comprehensive financial statement packages, including journal entries, general ledger reviews, and balance sheet support schedules.

  • Delivered accurate and timely financial reports to Regional Property Managers, Business Managers, and clients.

  • Monitored and maintained cash balances to ensure liquidity and operational readiness.

  • Resolved review comments and documented responses to ensure transparency and accountability.

  • Analyzed financial statement variances and provided detailed explanations for significant fluctuations.

  • Calculated management fees and ensured timely payment of related invoices.

  • Completed bi-weekly inter-project account reconciliations and followed up on outstanding issues.

  • Ensured timely payments for debt obligations, real estate taxes, sales taxes, and owner distributions, maintaining internal tracking schedules.

  • Verified bank reconciliations and resolved reconciling items promptly.

  • Adhered to internal accounting policies and procedures, maintaining compliance and consistency.

  • Validated budget data for accuracy and completeness.

  • Responded to client audit requests and provided necessary documentation.

  • Supported property setup and transitions, including loading beginning balances, sale pro-ration calculations, and closing entries.

  • Made informed decisions based on company policies and business practices to meet deadlines and achieve successful outcomes.

  • Performed other duties as assigned to support the finance team and organizational goals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Accounting, Finance, or related field; or four or more years of equivalent experience.

  • Minimum of three years of relevant accounting experience preferred.

  • CPA certification is a plus.

  • Strong ability to interpret and analyze complex business documents and financial data.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for responding to inquiries and presenting information.

  • High commitment to customer service, both internally and externally.

  • Proven ability to work under pressure with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.

  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and openness to new ideas and procedures.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); experience with Yardi or other real estate accounting software is preferred.

PTO and holiday hours are prorated based on hire date within the calendar year
