Position Purpose

The Bartender ensures that guests at the Prohibition Bar have an authentic experience. At the Prohibition Bar, act the part of a speakeasy-era bartender providing prompt and friendly service and describe the speakeasy-era experience. Assist and educate guests in making beverage selections. Prepare orders and process orders and payments on the register.

REQUIREMENTS

Essential Functions

• Must be able to perform in a prohibition speakeasy character
• Make drinks to spec recipe and serve food
• Maintain up-to-date product knowledge on all spirits and mixers, such as soft drinks, juices, syrups, and bitters.
• Have knowledge in Prohibition Era spirits and history of various drink, ingredients, and mixing methods and be able to explain knowledge to guests
• Answer guest questions accurately and politely
• Make proficient sales transactions using the point-of-sale system. Handle cash and other forms of payment. Maintain proper cash drawer balance.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• A high degree of self-motivation and the ability to work independently and as a team member within the scope of established rules and regulations.
• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services; this includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
• Knowlege of principles and methods for promoting and selling products and services
• Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems, managing files and records, and other office procedures and terminology
• Ability to establish and maintain professional and effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, and other entities.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years old
• Experience in a full-service restaurant and/or bar

Other Requirements

• Must pass pre-employment background check and substance abuse testing
• Valid Bar Card or equivalent
• Valid Bar Smart certification
