Java Developer

Job Summary (List Format):


- Lead the design, development, and testing of Java-based solutions by analyzing and understanding business and technical requirements.
- Participate in and meet deadlines for new enterprise Java development projects for the Georgia Department of Labor.
- Deliver full life cycle software development, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, deployment, and support.
- Review program and design work, ensuring compliance with established design parameters and corporate development standards.
- Maintain and enhance both existing and newly developed code in production environments.
- Mentor and guide junior developers in technical tasks, development best practices, troubleshooting, and testing.
- Produce technical documentation such as data flows, architecture diagrams, and technical specifications.
- Collaborate with project managers, business units, and technical leads to ensure project alignment and successful delivery.
- Stay current with emerging software development technologies, trends, and best practices.
- Architect Java solutions and integrate disparate systems using modern frameworks and tools (Struts, Spring, Hibernate, etc.).
- Ensure secure coding practices and compliance with standards (e.g., OWASP).
- Participate in agile development teams, creating custom Java applications as specified.
- Communicate technical concepts and project details clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executive management.
- Demonstrate strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and high-quality deliverables.



Required Technical Skills:


- 10+ years of IT experience with a Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline.
- Expertise in Core Java, Java development frameworks (Struts, Spring, Hibernate), and distributed Java (J2EE, SOA, middleware).
- Proficiency in AngularJS 2+, JavaScript, and JS frameworks (JQuery, DOJO).
- Experience with XML technologies (XSD, XPath, XQuery, XSLT), web services (WSDL, SOAP, RESTful), and single sign-on solutions.
- Knowledge of microservices, Spring Boot, Docker, Kubernetes, Netflix OSS, Zuul, and CI/CD toolchains.
- Experience in integrating and developing web services and secure coding techniques.
- Proficient in full stack development and able to communicate technical details and rationale for technology choices.
- Experience in technical mentoring, code review, and documentation.
