Collateral Specialist

The Collateral Clerk is primarily responsible for handling and managing the collateral associated with consumer loans. This role also supports other loan-related tasks, such as document preparation, record maintenance, and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for maintaining vehicle title tracking program, including assisting credit grantors with their individual title tracking efforts and mailing reminder letters to customers with unperfected titles.
- Responsible for Security Deed Processing; includes timely and efficiently processing the deed for proper county recording. When mortgage loans are paid off, prepares and mails satisfaction letters for proper county recording.
- Responsible for perfecting liens on all collateralized loans including titles and UCC. Maintain current files of each state’s DMV recording rules, requirements, fees, and forms.
- Contact customers or insurance agents to obtain or verify insurance information. Coordinate with insurance tracking vendor to ensure accurate, professional service is provided to customers.er credit is received, and post all CPI refunds per refund report.

- Responsible for processing title work for new loans. Researches and works title errors, such as incorrectly signed titles or POA's, or gathering missing information. Ensures that all balances are collected before releasing collateral. Prepares and mails lien releases and Letters of Guarantees. File UCC financing statements on all untitled/collateralized loans.
- Responsible for timely and accurate filing of GAP claims and posting funds to member's loan accounts when the claim amount is received.
- Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

- Responsible for completion of various reports within the department in a timely and efficient manner.
- Other duties assigned by management.
Requirements
- At least six months of similar or related experience including time spent in similar or preparatory positions.
- Strong attention to detail
- Proficient with MS Office
- Able to work independently
Education/Certifications/Licenses
- High school degree or GED required.
- Some college preferred.
- All employees must complete annual training modules including but not limited to cyber security, bank secrecy act as well as other compliance and regulatory requirements.
