Perform the lab audit process including quarantine, release and disposal of blood products based on disease testing results. Filter blood using dockable filters to provide leuko‑reduced products. Perform general maintenance and cleaning of instruments and department. Data processing and input. Label all apheresis products and quarantine/discard products as necessary. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Valid driver's license and must meet LifeSouth driver eligibility requirements. Availability to work evenings, rotating weekends and holidays. Ability to work consistently in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment. Good manual dexterity and ability to operate equipment. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, proportions, percentages, scientific notation). Ability to perform work requiring standing, walking, lifting up to 50 lbs, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, climbing, overhead lifting. Preferred: experience in a laboratory setting. Compensation and Requirements This is a full‑time position. Starting salary range: $17.25 – $18.97 per hour. A criminal background check and drug screen are required upon conditional offer of hire.
