TheDirector of Software Development will oversee multiple development teams focused on areas such as motion planning, real-time control, cloud integration, and user interfaces. This position requires a strategic thinker with hands-on technical depth and proven leadership experience in scaling software organizations within robotics or complex hardware-software environments.

Position Description:

• Define and maintain software architecture for Mujins robotics platform, ensuring scalability and reliability across motion planning, real-time control, cloud integration, and user interfaces.
• Actively contribute to writing and reviewing production-level code in C++ and Python for critical components.
• Create and maintain detailed technical specifications and documentation for new features and system enhancements.
• Translate product requirements into actionable technical plans and lead execution from concept through deployment.
• Establish and enforce best practices for coding, testing, and documentation across all development teams.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Hardware Engineering, and Cloud teams to ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
• Mentor senior developers and managers in technical problem-solving, architectural decisions, and career development.

Position Requirements:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Software Development, or related field.
• 9+ years in software development, with at least 5+ years in leadership roles managing multiple teams.
• Proven experience designing and implementing software architecture for robotics, automation, or complex distributed systems.
• Strong proficiency in C++ and Python, with hands-on experience writing production-level code.
• Ability to create technical specifications and lead execution from concept to deployment.
• Deep understanding of CI/CD, real-time systems, and quality assurance at scale.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, global environment and make data-driven decisions.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Exposure to cloud platforms, distributed systems, and UI/UX for complex applications.
• Strong communication skills and ability to influence stakeholders across technical and business domains.
• Experience scaling teams in high-growth technology companies.
