About the Role:
As an Occupational Therapist with Union General Health System, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for patients through therapeutic interventions. Your primary focus will be on helping individuals regain their independence and improve their functional abilities following injury, illness, or disability. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to develop personalized treatment plans that address the unique needs of each patient. This position requires a deep understanding of various rehabilitation techniques, particularly in geriatric and neurological care. Ultimately, your efforts will contribute to the overall well-being and recovery of patients, enabling them to participate more fully in their daily lives.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
- Experience in rehabilitation settings, particularly with geriatric and neurological populations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in specialized areas or a desire to achieve certification in geriatrics and neurological interventions.
- Experience working in a hospital or clinical environment.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical, emotional, and social needs to inform treatment planning.
- Develop and implement individualized occupational therapy treatment plans aimed at improving patients' daily living skills.
- Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
- Monitor and document patients' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Educate patients and their families about therapeutic techniques and strategies to support recovery and independence.
Skills:
The required skills in Occupational Therapy and Rehabilitation are essential for assessing and treating patients effectively. You will utilize your knowledge of occupational therapy techniques to enhance mobility and functional performance in patients. Skills in geriatric rehabilitation will be particularly valuable as you work with older adults facing age-related challenges. Additionally, your expertise in orthopedic and neurological conditions will apply to the patient population. Overall, these skills will enable you to create impactful treatment plans that foster recovery and improve the quality of life for your patients.
