Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Shipping Assistant to join our warehouse team. This role is essential to ensuring our finished label products are accurately packaged, documented, and shipped to customers on time. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and take pride in maintaining our high standards of order accuracy and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and package finished label orders according to customer specifications and shipping requirements
• Verify order accuracy by cross-referencing pick tickets, packing slips, and physical products
• Operate shipping software to create labels, generate tracking numbers, and process shipments via FedEx, UPS, and freight carriers
• Coordinate with production team to prioritize rush orders and ensure on-time delivery
• Maintain accurate inventory of shipping supplies and packaging materials
• Perform quality checks on outgoing orders to ensure labels are properly protected during transit
• Load and unload delivery trucks using pallet jacks and hand trucks
• Maintain a clean, organized shipping area in compliance with safety standards
• Assist with receiving and checking in raw materials as needed
• Update order status in company database and communicate tracking information to customer service team

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1-2 years of experience in shipping, warehouse, or fulfillment environment (label/printing industry experience a plus)
• Ability to lift and move packages up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the day
• Basic computer skills with ability to learn shipping software and inventory management systems
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order fulfillment
• Excellent time management skills with ability to meet daily shipping deadlines
• Forklift certification preferred but not required (willing to train)
• Ability to work on your feet for extended periods
• Basic math skills for counting and verifying quantities

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with label rolls, cores, and packaging requirements specific to label products
• Knowledge of international shipping documentation and customs forms
• Familiarity with hazmat shipping regulations
• Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS)

Physical Requirements

• Stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout 8-hour shifts
• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly
• Push/pull carts with label rolls weighing up to 100 lbs
• Use of hands for packaging and operating equipment
• Clear vision for reading small print on labels and shipping documents

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM with occasional overtime during peak seasons
