Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 17 weeks Shift: 12 Hours Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years in specialty License: Required Certifications: BLS (AHA), NIHSS Must-Have: - Minimum of 2 years in specialty - BLS and NIHSS certifications required Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Medical Surgical specialty. The unit consists of 44 beds with approximately 40 staff members. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5, and may increase to 1:6 for days and nights. Experience with electronic medical records is preferred, though not required. Mandatory weekend shifts are every other weekend. Holidays will be required as needed. General orientation is one week, with two days of floor-specific orientation. The environment may require floating to other acute care units as needed. Nurse aides will be available on the unit, with a typical ratio of 1:8 or 1:10. This is a fast-paced hospital setting requiring strong critical thinking skills. Nurses will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care. Candidates must be willing to work in a team-oriented environment.
