Youth and Young Adult Family TREE Center
Overview : Georgia DBHDD partnered with iHOPE INC and Grady Health System to serve youth and young adults (Y/YA), ages 14-25, with substance use disorders and/or co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. iHOPE is expanding and enriching the array of treatment and recovery services for Y/YA with substance use and/or co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders in Peach County and the surrounding areas.
Job Description
Coordinate, identify, and implement effective screening, assessment, engagement, treatment, recovery support, referral, and transition strategies for Y/YA with substance use disorders and/or co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders in Peach County and the surrounding areas with your team. Increase the number of Y/YA who undergo screening and assessment for substance use disorders and/or co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders. Increase the number of Y/YA who receive treatment and recovery services for substance use disorders and/or co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders. In addition to conducting screening and assessment, you will provide comprehensive, coordinated, evidence-based, culturally and developmentally appropriate, trauma-informed, and integrated services to include best practices, individualized youth-friendly approaches to treatment and recovery planning for Y/YA with a focus on family involvement, engagement, and shared decision making.
Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
1.Ability to make professional evaluations, decisions, and treatment planning and implementation recommendations.
2. Advanced knowledge and mastery of the fundamentals of the counseling process, which includes defining peers/family problems and maintaining an effective counseling relationship.
3. Ability to provide subject matter consultation to colleagues and trainees, build on the foundation of competence through regular meetings and discussions to explain assignments, review progress of cases, and confer about the counseling/certified peer specialist perspectives and orientation.
4. Ability to provide complex crisis intervention to peers/participants who are in psychological distress. Requires independent judgment and skill.
5. Ability to establish goals/treatment through a collaborative and participatory process with the peer/participant, utilizing advanced counseling skills, including evidence-based practices, screening, and psychosocial assessment.
6. Ability to use a wide variety of individual, group, or familial interventions; demonstrates sensitivity to diversity and possesses multicultural counseling skills.
7. Ability to develop and facilitate psychotherapy and psycho-education groups that include life skills, family support, and community integration. This may include evidence-based practices.
Duties & Responsibilities: LPC
- Comply with all HIPAA rules and regulations, guidelines, and confidential integrity toward all peer/participants
- Completes required documentation in a timely fashion in the electronic record.
- Coordinate staff meetings, treatment, peer recovery team meetings,and DBHDD internal workgroup
- Acts as an organizational representative, attending community and functions to increase access and knowledge of services
- Reduces stigma of mental health by educating school personnel, families, and community members about mental health leverage existing partnerships and cultivate new opportunities for collaboration to enhance service coordination for Y/YA and their families.
- Provide warm Referrals for peer/participant and family to community resources to assist in recovery from mental health, substance abuse, or other areas of functioning.
- Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing set standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
- Adheres to professional standards, policies, and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, RDP, DBHDD, and all other State Board requirements.
- Updates job knowledge by maintaining licensure, participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, participating in professional organizations, etc.
- Duties & Responsibilities: Program Coordinator
- Lead Staff Development Initiatives: Design and implement individualized professional development plans for three program staff, incorporating regular training workshops, mentorship opportunities, and performance feedback to enhance their skills and foster a culture of continuous learning.
- Oversee Documentation and Audit Readiness: Establish and maintain robust systems for program documentation, ensuring all records (participant data, activity logs, financial expenditures, etc.) are accurate, complete, and readily accessible for internal reviews and external audits.
- Optimize Program Time Management: Develop and enforce efficient time management strategies across program activities, staff responsibilities, and administrative tasks to maximize productivity and ensure timely completion of goals within a grassroots context.
- Streamline Appointment and Meeting Scheduling: Independently manage and optimize complex scheduling for all program-related appointments, staff meetings, and external engagements, including those with community partners and stakeholders.
- Prepare and Facilitate CEO Meetings: Proactively prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for regular meetings with the CEO, highlighting program achievements, challenges, staff development progress, and strategic recommendations.
- Foster Team Collaboration and Efficiency: Implement effective communication channels and team-building activities to cultivate a collaborative environment among the three staff members, promoting shared responsibility and efficient workflow.
- Ensure Program Compliance and Quality: Regularly review program operations to ensure adherence to organizational policies, funding requirements, and best practices in youth development, maintaining a high standard of program quality and impact.
Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree in psychology, counseling, social work, and licensed (LAPC/LPC, LMSW/LCSW, or LAMFT/LMFT).
- Must have a clean driving record and be willing to use your vehicle to travel within the surrounding counties.
- Associate or full clinical license preferred (LCSW/LMSW, LPC/LAPC)

- Has the lived experience of navigating the Behavioral Health System personally or as a Parent.
Physical Requirements : Usually works indoors in areas that normally have adequate heat, light, and ventilation. The work is primarily sedentary; however, there is some walking, standing, bending, and carrying of light items such as papers, files, manuals, and records.
