Certifications: BLS Certification Must-Have:
- Minimum of 2 years of PCU experience
- Solid PCU skillset and successful completion of at least 1 travel contract
- Experience in a hospital of similar size and acuity
- Ability to titrate medications Description:
Candidates must be able to comply with a strict 100-mile radius rule.
Candidates must have experience in a setting with a similar patient population.
The unit consists of 12 beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5, depending on acuity.
Common diagnoses include Med-Surg, Sickle Cell, and heart failure.
Registered Nurses on this unit are assigned based on needs.
Telemetry experience is required for this position.
Registered Nurses will titrate medications as necessary.
Common titratable or set-rate drips will be utilized.
Phlebotomy is not required for Registered Nurses in this role; they will pull their own labs.
Charge Nurses will take patient assignments.
Nurse aides are present on the unit to assist with patient care.
Respiratory equipment such as nasal masks, face masks, and BiPap will be utilized.
Nurses on this unit are not required to read their own telemetry strips.
Self-scheduling is permitted within the unit.
Every other weekend and holiday shifts are expected.
There are no on-call or standby requirements for this position.
Floating to other units is not required.
The dress code is navy scrubs.
Unit-specific orientation will include basic skills assessments and training shifts with a preceptor.
