Front of House Manager

White Oak is a refined, European-inspired restaurant rooted in Southern hospitality. We are seeking a front-of-house leader who is hands-on, service-obsessed, and passionate about building a high-performing team and delivering exceptional guest experiences every shift.

The Front of House Manager supports daily dining room operations, leads service standards, coaches the FOH team, and ensures a consistent, elevated guest experience. This role partners closely with the GM, Chef, and bar leadership to drive execution, hospitality culture, and performance.

Service & Guest Experience

• Lead pre-shifts and manage floor execution during service (pace, timing, table touches, service recovery).

• Set and uphold hospitality and service standards across host, bar, server, support, and expo coordination.

• Handle guest concerns with professionalism and urgency, turning issues into loyalty-building moments.

• Maintain strong visibility on the floor and model calm, confident leadership.

Team Leadership & Development

• Train, coach, and hold FOH team accountable to standards, steps of service, and product knowledge.

• Support hiring, onboarding, scheduling needs, shift coverage, and performance feedback.

Operations & Systems

• Execute opening/closing procedures and ensure readiness standards are met (cleanliness, mise en place, uniforms, station set-up).

• Collaborate with bar and culinary teams to ensure smooth communication and consistent execution.

• Support reservation flow, pacing, and table management using OpenTable.

• Maintain FOH organization: sidework, checklists, station charts, and service tools.

• Ensure compliance with alcohol service laws, safety protocols, and company policies.

Performance & Business Results

• Monitor labor efficiency and assist with scheduling strategy and productivity.

• Support sales growth through hospitality, up-selling coaching, and experience-driven repeat business.

• Track service notes and patterns to improve training, standards, and execution.

• 2+ years of FOH management experience in an elevated full-service restaurant (fine dining, upscale casual, or chef-driven preferred).

• Strong knowledge of service standards, hospitality pacing, and guest recovery.

• Proven ability to train and lead teams with consistency and accountability.

• Comfortable in high-volume, high-expectation environments with strong attention to detail.

• Excellent communication skills and a calm, solutions-oriented leadership style.

• Flexible schedule availability including nights, weekends, and holidays.

• Service is smoother, more consistent, and clearly led with strong pacing and floor presence.

• FOH team executes standards confidently and responds well to coaching and accountability.

• Guest feedback improves, and service issues are resolved quickly and professionally.

• Operational checklists, sidework, and readiness standards become non-negotiable habits.
