As a Fiberglass Technician, your duties and responsibilities will include:
- Interpreting blueprints or other design documents to set specifications for fiberglass products
- Preparing and cutting fiberglass materials based on those specifications
- Mixing resins and hardeners to create a compound suitable for molding
- Applying layers of fiberglass onto molds, and using brushes or air guns to smooth out surfaces
- Operating machinery to perform tasks such as cutting, laminating, and pressing fiberglass materials
- Inspecting finished products for defects, ensuring quality standards are met
- Repairing, replacing, or modifying fiberglass components as necessary
- Maintaining safe and clean work environment by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
- Documenting the process, materials used, and any issues encountered for reference in future projects or for quality control purposes
