Departmental Administrative Assistant
:
As the departmental administrative assistant, you will support the academic department on department projects and university initiatives and collaborate with the academic operations managers to help their academic departments meet requirements and deadlines. This role involves responding to student questions in a timely manner; supporting the department with classes, ELO's, workshop scheduling, and university events; delivering mail; composing correspondence and maintaining a file system.
Responsibilities include maintaining the department leaders' calendars/schedules, completing paperwork, ordering and maintaining office supplies, and collaborating with housekeeping to ensure the building is student ready. You will greet scheduled visitors and direct them to the appropriate area. This role requires undertaking the arrangement of department meetings and preparing agendas, supporting end of quarter documentation, and the support of the university's operation showcase. In this role you will be working in support of matters that require confidentiality, accuracy, and the ability to meet deadlines.
Minimum Qualifications:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite software and BANNER or a similar database
Ability to manage multiple priorities
Commitment to professionalism, honesty, and integrity
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree plus at least one year of related experience
Successful work experience in an academic environment
Certificates, licenses, and registrations:
Valid driver's license
Travel required:
Less than 10%
Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
