Warehouse Associate
JOB SUMMARY
McKenney’s is looking for a dependable and motivated individual to join our warehouse team as a Warehouse Associate I. This is an entry-level position focused on supporting material handling, order staging, and warehouse organization. You will gain valuable experience working in a fast-paced construction logistics environment with opportunities for cross-training and advancement.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
· Unload incoming deliveries from vendors, identify materials, and coordinate storage of these materials in dedicated locations.
· Use iPhone and warehouse software (Warehouse Connect) to receive and remove material
· Pick and stage material for outbound shipments based on McKenney’s dispactching software (TruckTicket)
· Perform quality checks to verify integrity of all materials and equipment in each inbound delivery
· Assist with tool room, trucking, or jobsite deliveries when needed
· Log hours worked per job and submit weekly time tickets
· Participate in daily safety practices, including Near Miss and Safety Observation reporting
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· High school diploma or GED
· Basic computer and mobile device skills
· Ability to safely operate or learn to operate a forklift
(training provided)
· Reliable, organized, and willing to learn
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
· Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or material handling
· Exposure to construction or warehouse environments
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORTS
· Work involves moderate exposure to elements, such as hot/cold temperatures, dirt, dust, and/or loud noises.
· Work environment involves moderate exposure to construction warehouse hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
· Strong physical effort. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 50 pounds and extensive climbing walking and standing.
