Childcare Cook/Center Support
Summary Chroma Early Learning Academy is a nurturing and inclusive environment dedicated to providing high-quality care and education for children. We believe in fostering a healthy and safe atmosphere where children can grow, play, and thrive. As part of this mission, we are looking for a dedicated Childcare Cook to prepare nutritious and balanced meals for our little ones and also provide support to teachers and staff. Duties Meal Preparation : Plan and prepare daily meals and snacks that meet children's nutritional needs and dietary restrictions (allergies, sensitivities, etc.).
Menu Planning : Develop seasonal and age-appropriate menus in line with national nutritional guidelines and parental preferences.
Kitchen Management : Ensure the kitchen is kept clean, sanitized, and organized, adhering to food safety regulations and childcare center policies.
Inventory & Supplies : Manage food inventory, order supplies, and maintain a budget for kitchen expenses.
Collaboration : Work closely with the childcare staff to accommodate special dietary needs and ensure meal schedules are met.
Compliance : Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper food storage, hygiene standards, and meal portion control.
Support: Will occasionally work in a classroom and provide staff breaks and support staff with assistance. Requirements Experience : Previous experience in a similar role, especially within a childcare, school, or similar setting.
Skills :
- Knowledge of child nutrition and safe food handling.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively.
- Ability to handle dietary restrictions and allergies with care.
Qualities : Patience, creativity in meal planning, attention to detail, and a genuine love for working around children.
Education: High School Diploma/GED
Age: 18+years Nice To Haves *Childcare experience
