Primary Objective: In broad terms, briefly state the major purpose of primary objective of this position.
- This position ensures the consistent and adequate training of new warehouse employees on all positions and job functions in the department. Cross trains and retrains existing employees who promote or transfer into new positions. May provide direct guidance to employees in absence of manager, supervisor, or lead person.
Major Function and Scope: Using brief narrative statements, describe each major function of responsibility explaining the scope of the function as appropriate.
- For all new hires on all shifts, deliver classroom and 1-on-1 instruction for job specific processes and procedures related to documentation and work instructions
- Methods include verbally instruction to employees and physical demonstrations on how to perform the job
- Deliver training to existing employees who are promoted or transferred into new positions
- Conduct Lift Truck Re-certification annually for all Lift Truck drivers
- Informally monitor employee performance and provide feedback to management
- Complete employee evaluations on their job performance as scheduled
- Work with HR and department management to determine training needs and to develop necessary scheduling of employees
- Critique the job and inform TQM staff of needed changes or enhancements to process flow documentation
- Assist in the development and procurement of training materials such as visual aids, work books, and outside resources
- Attend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision
- Follow all established standard operating and safety procedures as well as company policies
- Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary
- Perform other tasks assigned by management
Type of Experience and Knowledge:
Knowledge, Experience, Certifications: Describe the education, knowledge required, years of experience, specific skills and abilities required to do the job on a fully competent basis.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Lift Truck Certification preferred
- Successful completion of all required on the job training
- Successful completion of all required health and environmental safety training
- May be required to use department specific database systems
- At least 18 months of experience in functions comparable to a lead
- Knowledge of OSHA and DOT regulations and requirements
Competencies: Describe the specific skills required for this position in terms of technical, managerial, interpersonal skills and unique abilities.
- Operate in a team-based environment
- Basic math skills
- Basic computer skills
- Keep simple records and make routine reports
- I nstruct on machine operations
