Job Summary
The position provides pathways for students from application to admission to The University of West Georgia and provides resolution to any student/parent issues escalated beyond the front-end call center staff. Makes and delivers application decisions for student applicants, including pre and post admission processing. Decisions must be accurate, as they influence enrollment and the educational future of students. This position creates and maintains The Office of Admissions¿ quarterly processing plans, which are incorporated into the yearly recruitment plan. The position maintains personalized contact with incomplete applicants, counsels on how to complete their admissions file, and helps them overcome various enrollment roadblocks. On a semester to semester basis, the position is required to independently monitor and analyze follow-up initiatives, including close attention to incomplete follow up goals and benchmarks to adjust and improve the overarching plan to best meet the needs of prospective students and ultimately, reach the best yield rates. Improvements may include working with the Senior Admissions Processor, the Director of Admissions, and Strategic Enrollment Management leadership to assess processing needs. Other duties as assigned, including delegation of tasks to student leaders.
Responsibilities
Admissions Processing
Manage all populations of applicants from application to enrollment. This would include: forward-facing communication with applicants, entering applications, following up with incomplete applications, calculating freshman and transfer GPAs, and entering application decisions.
Incomplete Applications
Coordinate and implement a strategic plan focused on follow-up with incomplete applicants in order to reduce the incomplete applicant rate each term (measured at 30, 60, 90, and 120 days). Responsible for independently monitoring and analyzing incomplete rates of the entire Operations Team on a weekly basis and using data collected to guide potential resource shifts and direction by the Senior Admissions Processor, the Director of Admissions, and/or the Strategic Enrollment Management leadership.
Customer Services
Serve students in a face-to-face capacity by being available to see walk-ins and meet with prospective students, as well as follow-up with high level student concerns using technological platforms and student software from Inbound Call Center.
Other Duties as Assigned
Other duties as assigned by the Senior Admissions Processor, the Director of Admissions, and/or the Strategic Enrollment Management leadership team in order to support The Office of Admissions and The Division of Strategic Enrollment Management.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
High School Diploma / GED Required Experience
4-6 years of related experience, can be 1-2 years of related experience based on education. Experience in data entry and keyboarding.

Preferred Experience
Experience with providing excellent customer service and handling the various complexities involved in a high volume office setting. At least one year experience utilizing Banner within a higher education setting.
Proposed Salary
$42,000.00 annually, paid on a monthly basis

ABILITIES
Through these conversations, the staff member must make decisions on the most impactful way to deliver this information so that the prospective student or applicant continues to choose UWG. Again, these conversations are very important and impactful on enrollment to the institution because a single interaction with a prospective student or even at a high school event could have lasting consequences on whether or not a student or group of students chooses to ultimately enroll in the university. This position's impact on new student enrollment leaves very little room for error and requires a the staff member to be ready to make hard decisions around both strategy and communication to prospective students largely unsupervised, since many of these decisions are made away from their direct supervisor or support of their team.
KNOWLEDGE
Plan and implement processing strategies around all prospective students. Participates in all processing and enrollment activities for all student types. Helps to develop processing plans through analysis, data, and needs of the Office of Admissions. Knowledgeable and skilled in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools and other data processing tools.
SKILLS
High attention to detail, and ability to work in fast-paced and ever-changing work environment. Adaptable with those changes based on the needs for the Admissions office and/or adjustments for requirements set forth by the University System of Georgia. In addition to being the first impression of the institution to prospective students and other outside constituents, the Administrative Support Specialist is responsible for making admissions decisions and are responsible for monitoring incomplete applications for prospective students. Additionally, the Administrative Support Specialist is responsible for delivering admissions decisions to our prospective applicants and counseling both applicants and inquiries on the admissions process.
