Postdoctoral Fellow - Immunology, Virology, and Vaccine Development
Position Summary
The Institute for Biomedical Sciences (IBMS) at Georgia State University (GSU) invites applications for a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join our research team in the areas of immunology, virology, and vaccine development . The successful candidate will participate in innovative research aimed at understanding host-pathogen interactions and developing next-generation vaccines.

Responsibilities
- Design, perform, and optimize in vitro and animal studies related to immunology, virology, and vaccine development.
- Analyze, interpret, and present experimental data using appropriate statistical and computational approaches.
- Prepare manuscripts for publication in high-impact peer-reviewed journals.
- Contribute to the preparation and writing of competitive research grant applications.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records and present research findings at laboratory meetings and scientific conferences.
- Mentor and train graduate and undergraduate students, as well as research technicians, in laboratory techniques, experimental design, and data analysis.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary investigators to advance ongoing research projects.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Immunology, Virology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biomedical Sciences, or a closely related field.
- Extensive research experience in immunology, virology, and vaccine development.
- Hands-on experience with molecular, cellular, and immunological techniques and animal models.
- Demonstrated ability to design and execute independent research projects.
- Strong data analysis, scientific writing, and communication skills.
- A publication record in peer-reviewed journals commensurate with career stage.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative research environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in vaccine design, development, or preclinical evaluation.
- Experience preparing or contributing to research grant applications.
- Previous experience mentoring students or supervising laboratory personnel.
