Position Summary

As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the backbone of organizational IT infrastructure. You are responsible for installing and maintaining computer networks and systems, troubleshooting network issues, and ensuring network security, performance, and availability. As businesses increasingly rely on robust digital infrastructure, the role of Network Engineer has become mission-critical, requiring a unique blend of technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and communication skills to keep organizations running smoothly and securely. The state of Georgia will be your home base but must be willing to travel to Atlanta and other Georgia offices as needed.

Responsibilities

Installation, Maintenance, Troubleshooting, and Security Management:

  • Create, adjust, and maintain user permissions and settings to ensure accurate provisioning across the organization while maintaining security.
  • Implement and manage robust security measures, including updating antivirus software and configuring firewalls to protect networks from viruses and other threats.
  • Install, configure, and maintain network hardware, software, and systems, including LANs, WANs, servers, and VPNs.
  • Diagnose and fix software and hardware configuration issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Monitor real-time network traffic, audit logs, and usage patterns to identify bottlenecks and optimize bandwidth allocation across systems and detect potential intrusions.
  • Provide comprehensive technical support to end-users for network-related problems, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum availability and productivity.
  • Regularly upgrade and perform preventive maintenance on existing networks to ensure optimal performance, redundancy, and scalability.
  • Setup automated backup schedules, document recovery processes and procedures, and test disaster recovery procedures and offsite storage regularly.

Collaboration

  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including business analysts and end-users, to define functional business requirements and workflow needs.
  • Participates in I.T. Team meetings and provides training and support to junior team members as appropriate.
  • Actively collaborate with cross-functional teams to research, select, and procure hardware and software that aligns with the organization’s technical requirements and budget constraints.
  • Participate in continuous monitoring activities which include performance tuning, security assessments, and new emerging technology acquisitions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to generate detailed network performance reports and communicate SLA requirements to stakeholders.
  • Train new users on network systems, policies, and best practices to promote efficient and secure usage of organizational I.T resources.
  • Other duties as assigned from the I.T. Manager.
